Educational trip to Kumasi : Some end-of-year ISTIC trainees to live “Royal Image Group” experiences.
Some trainee journalists, advisors in communication and media techniques and technology engineers from the Institute of Sciences and Techniques of Information and Communication (ISTIC) visited Royal Image Group premises in Kumasi, Ghana, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. This visit took place in the framework of the end-of-training educational trip to Ghana. The general director of the institute, some members of the executive board and supervisors marked their presence.
To learn about the conditions of work, of organization and of operating about both Royal Television and Radio stations are some of the aims of the visit to this media group.
The technical director of the media welcomed the visitors and wished them a good work stay on the land of Ghana. Mr. Hanson Conduah briefly introduced the company. “ Royal Image Group is a media company which has established its headquarters in Accra with a subsidiary operating here in Kumasi. It got several awards that are a recognition of the quality of the work carried out in the framework of providing the news,” he stated.
The Director General of ISTIC, Dr Alizéta OUOBA born COMPAORE, expressed her joice due to the warm and friendly welcome shown towards her delegation. For her, this educational trip allows the trainees both to immerse themselves in Ghana and to experience Ghanaian professional practices in the fields of journalism, communication, media techniques and technologies, while discovering entities related to the basic training of the trainees. She amphasized that the choice of the current press group is linked to its’ fame in professionalism.
Existing for more than 10 years now, “Royal Image Group” has been awarded with eight (8) trophies, including that of the best cultural television of the year.
“This visit is aiming at both discovering the operating system of this media group and allowing our trainees to get new experiences. At the same time, we will take advantage of signing a partnership convention between Royal group and ISTIC,” announced Dr Alizèta OUOBA born COMPAORE.
Discovering “Royal Group Image” infrastructures
Guided tour, presentation of the technical installations of both Royal radio and Royal television and exchanges between the delegation from ISTIC and the executive staff of the host entity were the highlights of the meeting. At the end of the visit the Director general of ISTIC said she was very satisfied. “We are leaving Royal Television, very satisfied. We got the opportunity to discover the studios and some daily journalistic practices. We also saw the TV décor settings that you often adapt according to the different situation needs. It is a fulfilling experience that we could follow in Burkina Faso, mainly during the training sessions of our trainees,” she launched.
Alassane Ouédraogo, a trainee in journalism, recognized to have benefited from a new experience during this visit. “As a future media manager, this visit allows us to know how to optimize the use of the equipments with little means,” he rejoiced.
“Royal Image Group” was created in 2013. It is also a framework for learning and training in journalism.
After “Royal Image Group”, the ISTIC interns paid a courtesy visit to the Consulate General of Burkina Faso in Kumasi. Jacques T. GOUBA, The interim manager of the Consulate reassured the trainees of the good relationships his Institution is maintaining with both the Ghanaian authorities and between his compatriots and the Ghanaian populations. He expressed his full commitment to defend the interests of the Burkinabe community living in this sister country, Ghana.
